128 People. Two Sundays. One Baptism in Christ.

On Sunday 21 and 28 June, we celebrated our second annual Baptisms on the Beach.

The atmosphere on Boscombe Beach was alive with a passion for Christ, shared by thousands from our local area of Bournemouth, Christchurch, and Poole, as well as people drawn from all across the UK (and in a few cases across the world!).

We spent the morning praising God in song and sermon, culminating our time in witness to the joyful expression of 14 Churches baptising a combined 128 men and women.

As a local interdenominational Collective of Churches, we have a unifying desire to see the name of Jesus made known.

Our Baptisms on the Beach are a key part of this missional desire. In our unity, we have a greater opportunity to be Beacons of light to those around us, showing that our God is active to transform our local communities to a new and radical way of living in love and humility towards him. We pray and seek to see people’s lives changed. A death to the old life and resurrection in Christ.

“One Lord, one faith, one baptism” Ephesians 4:5
